Swiss E-Car Carsharing comes to Villnachern

Villnachern officially opened its new Swiss E-Car e-carsharing site on 4 February 2022. Members of Villnachern local council and representatives of KOSAG Kompostier AG, IBB Energie AG and Swiss E-Car came together for the launch of the new electric car, available to the public for bookings as of now.

On Friday morning, a small group attended the official start of e-carsharing at Dorfstrasse 7, beside the schoolhouse in Villnachern. Guests were welcomed by Mr Philipp Ramuz, Director of Grid Services at IBB Energie AG, before Arian Rohs from Swiss E-Car introduced the booking app and invited attendees on test drives in the electric car. The new VW ID.3 has a fully electric range of around 360 kilometres and is ideal for both day trips and short journeys. The e-vehicle is powered by 100 % green electricity from hydropower.

Sustainable, great-value electromobility

The carsharing vehicle is available to book now through the Swiss E-Car app. All you need to do is register. A journey costs 8 francs per hour or 65 francs per day. The price includes kilometres travelled, the renewable energy for charging and the maintenance of the electric car and of the charging point. There are no subscription costs and no basic fees. Users also have access to a 24-hour hotline.

Through the carsharing service, Villnachern local authority, KOSAG Kompostier AG and IBB Energie AG are working together to make their community an ever more attractive place to live and work, and to contribute to the Energy Strategy 2050.
